This is one-third of the Combing Zone series set; LandCross. It is made up of Takara item numbers C-316, C-317, C-318. The Zone series did not see any release outside of Japan and select Asian markets. It is the very last of the “Generation 1” or “original” transformers toy line. Arguably some of the strongest futurist and brutalist design motifs to come out of Takara long after other markets changed fads.

It’s unfortunate Transformers, like many product design lines, has to navigate such toxic and fleeting professional interests. We would certainly rather see this line, than anything Michaels Bay’s camp is “creating”.
